One of the most popular Nike KD signature models returns in one of the most iconic colourways from the Nike KD series. The brand re-releases another archival Kevin Durant signature basketball shoe following the return of the Nike KD 3 “All-Star”. This Nike KD 4 “Weatherman” honours Kevin Durant’s aspirations as a child aside from basketball: becoming a weatherman.
First released in 2011, the Nike KD 4 was monumental for the series as it implements an Adaptive Fit strap, which provided a lockdown fit and added more aesthetics to the shoe. The shoe has a fuse upper, a standard material for Nike basketball sneakers during that era. This “Weatherman” rendition is one of the most recognised colourways, donning a green fuse base layer with weather map-inspired graphics on the rear and strap. Orange and yellow accents combine for added vibrancy. Kevin Durant’s “35” jersey number from his Oklahoma City Thunder stint adorns the tongue, while his minimalist KD logo sits on the heel panel. Pressure map graphics appear on the semi-translucent outsole, based on Durant’s actual foot for authenticity. This colourway was popular a decade ago because it stood out on and off the court. The shoe looks to take the sneaker landscape by storm as it returns this 2024.
