Nike Mayfly Woven Maroon

Here we take a detailed look at the Nike Mayfly Woven Maroon. Releasing as part of Nike’s summer 2016 collection, this colourway is set to be massive. It’s a womens exclusive which follows on from the success of previous iterations. Most notable was the beige rendition which also harnesses the woven construct.

Nike’s Mayfly was born out of the need for a long distance runner which would offer no-frills comfort. Initially named after the insect which has a short lifespan, the shoe offered little durability and was considered a cheap runner. That’s since changed as the brand have transformed one of their basic models into an ultra premium release. Luxurious suede now hits the upper with soft leather for the inner lining. A re-engineered midsole delivers impact protection that won’t damage for years to come.
