Since its debut in 2019, the Nike P-6000 has remained under the radar in the sneaker scene. But that changed in the last few years as the retro running shoe has been a prized gem among the Oregon-based sportswear giant’s lifestyle catalogue, serving as an ideal alternative to the well-distinguished Zoom Vomero 5. The Nike P-6000 “Flat Pewter” lands in a hugely sought-after greyscale colour palette, harkening back to the preeminence of Y2K running trainers.
The Nike P6000 is a tribute to the early 2000s Pegasus 25 and Pegasus 2006 silhouettes, remastered with a modern-day shake-up for today’s lifestyle sneaker zeitgeist. This colourway has a dark grey open mesh construction, reinforced with metallic silver overlays and grey suede panels on the toe and rear. The Swooshes on the sides have a clean white tone, upsized with embroidered outlines for prominence. Classic Nike branding sits atop a metallic silver backdrop, while a “Bill Bowerman Series” label embellishes the strip. The plush foam midsole displays a yellowish pre-aged aesthetic as an ode to Y2K sneakers. Waffle-inspired traction patterns round out the throwback design language of this modern retro sneaker.
