Stüssy and Nike both hold an extensive and impressive collaborative history, and now the two brands have joined forces once again to work on an underground cult favourite. The Stüssy x Nike Vandal High capsule offers up a muted take on early ‘80s silhouette, removing the collegiate inspired colourways and focusing on a selection of simple palettes instead. That is until you throw the extra lace options into the mix!
Crafted from a black hemp canvas, the upper details an embroidered silver Swoosh that has been included on prior Stüssy projects. The ankle strap, a popular performance feature among basketball silhouettes from the era, wraps around the ankle collar in a silver and white ripstop, with Nike’s old school Futura logo stitched onto the end. A white midsole keeps things classic underfoot, with the outsole bearing your standard herringbone traction that played a pivotal role in ‘80s basketball shoes. These arrive with an extra ankle strap, as well as two extra laces, meaning you can turn these from vintage hooper to a fun pair on your rotation in a matter of minutes.
This “Black” iteration will be dropping alongside two other colours via the Stüssy website on the 9th of June at 10:00AM UK time. We also expect to see a Nike SNKRS release in the following weeks for the Stüssy x Nike Vandal High “Black”, but for any further updates make sure to stay tuned right here at The Sole Supplier!
