Original Article: Standing over 20 years strong, Stüssy’s partnership with Nike has seen the duo produce some absolute gems over the years. And, while the collaborative archive has often focused on some staple silhouettes, Stüssy is never shy to throw in a curveball, either. For its latest trick, the Californian-born surf imprint has turned its attention towards the Nike Vandal , and is set to drop the model in a trio of colourways, including this bold blue number.
Originally released as a basketball sneaker in the ‘80s, the Vandal isn’t visually dissimilar from the Air Force 1, so while it may not be a hugely popular model, this pair is only really just a small deviation away from some of the duo’s other efforts. Crafted from hemp, the sneaker comes saturated in its titular hue - and fans will be pleased to know that both “ Black ” and “ Fossil ” versions are expected to join it.
Branding-wise, the pair comes kitted out with embroidered Swooshes and 8-Ball graphic tongue tabs. Two-toned sole units round off the pairs, providing a clean finish to what’s really a pretty simple-looking (and dare we say slightly boring) sneaker.
What do you think of Stüssy’s latest effort? Would you like to have seen the brand try a more adventurous silhouette? Will anything stack up to the legendary Spiridon? Let us know your thoughts, and in the meantime check out Yeezy’s June line-up .
