Reebok’s signature shoe for Emmit James Smith, American former football running back of the Dallas Cowboys, the E22, is getting a re-issue in OG colourways. First released in 1996, the turf shoe featured the brand’s groundbreaking Hexalite cushioning technology and a grippy, lugged outsole. Meet the Reebok E22 Retro “Black”.
This mid-cut E22 is a replica of one of two original colourways from 1996. The upper is constructed from black anodized synthetic leather and features the brand’s “broken glass” elements exposing black mesh underneath. The shoe also uses the ghillie lacing system, using loops instead of eyelets to keep the rope-like black laces in place. The eye-catching moulded white EVA midsole features black Vector branding on the lateral midfoot and Viz-Hex, the exposed honeycomb-patterned Hexalite cushioning system of the shoe. A black, lugged rubber outsole rounds out the style of this shoe.
