Officially unveiled in September and debuted by the Three Lions during a home match against Germany that same month, England’s 2022/23 away kit is now available to buy ahead of the World Cup’s kick-off on 20 November and we could not be more excited to get our hands on it.
The 2022 kit is a fantastic blend of 90s nostalgia and forward-looking optimism. The most sustainable England kit yet, it is made from 75% recycled materials and Includes Nike’s Dri-FIT sweat-wicking technology. The design team took inspiration from the youthful spirit of the current national squad and their focus on cohesive teamwork, togetherness, and movement.
Nods to the past are plentiful and considerate, not least the classic red and blue colouring which is presented with a modern twist: all-over Challenge Red is complemented by subtle accents of Blue Void and Blue Fury. The collared shirt plays homage to England’s long tradition of playing in collared jerseys with the underside of the back collar hiding another new element: a knitted Three Lions graphic showcased only when the collar is popped. Just like the home kit, the typeface used on the name and number takes inspiration from angular, industrial fonts used by English rock bands.
Simultaneously honouring England’s storied past while nodding to the future, this kit is a must cop for any football fan.
