adidas Adilette 22 Sizing: Do adidas Adilettes Fit True to Size?

Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that the latest adidas Adilette to step into the limelight has caused quite a stir. Accused by Ye of being 'a fake Yeezy' in a now-deleted Instagram post, the Adilette 22 does certainly look like something the artist formerly known as Kanye West would have imagined up. The futuristic lines and topography-like build, paired with the neutral colour schemes the slides have released in, make them a must-cop item for the summer months. The question is, how do the Adilette 22 slides fit? Do they fit small like the Yeezy Slides, or are you best going true to size? We will answer all of these questions in this sizing guide for the adidas Adilette.

In a nutshell, the adidas Adilette 22 fits true to size. Whilst you're probably used to sizing up in a Yeezy Slide, the adidas Adilette is much simpler in regards to knowing what size to buy. For example, if you're a UK 5, buy a UK 5.

Safe to say you'll be fine going with your usual size for this futuristic slide. Inspired by 3D topography and human expeditions to Mars, the adidas Adilette 22 doesn't go crazy with out-of-this-world sizing, it's quite simple finding your size. However, if you're in between sizes, it would be worth sizing up. This means you'll have no trouble wearing them with socks. The contoured footbed means that they fit well, and the rubber outsole comes sturdier than you might expect on the Yeezy Slide. Constructed from natural materials that are renewable and reduce finite waste, these are not only bang up-to-date and on trend, but looking to create a waste-free future too.

Unlike my Yeezy Slides, I get my true size in the adidas Adilette slides. Whatever you wear for Superstars or Stan Smiths, your best bet is to go with this size. I am a UK 4.5, however, so I have to get a UK 5 as they don't come in half sizes. These fit well though; it doesn't matter if they are a little big as this suits the style.

I don't think they are quite as cushioned as my Yeezy Slides, but they are still super comfortable and actually feel more durable - like they'll last longer. There's a nice contoured footbed which is comfortable and suits the shape of your foot well. I have no complaints!

Whilst most people are only going to wear these slides by the pool or in the house, I actually like to wear mine with cycling shorts and an oversized t-shirt. The new Fear of God ESSENTIALS Football T-shirts are great for using as an oversized top and go really well with these new-style slides.

The adidas Adilette slides are really easy to keep clean. All I do is wet them with a bit of soapy water and rub them with a damp cloth. They dry in no time, too! Definitely don't be putting them in the washing machine, though.

No! I don't size down though. They are perfect. If you have a pair of adidas sneakers (that aren't Yeezy), then you're best off picking the same size as you wear for these. For example, I wear UK 7 in the adidas Samba, and it's the same for the Adilette slides.

Adilette 22 slides are made from natural and renewable materials, unlike the plastics that usual Adilette slides are made from.

Adilette 22 slides are waterproof. Made for by the pool and on the beach, it would be silly if water ruined them. Feel free to rinse off sand from the beach in the shower; it won't affect their shape or colour.

Overall, you'll be fine going for your true size when buying the adidas Adilette slides, including the Adilette 22. If you are in between sizes, then you will want to size up, rather than down, as this gives you room to wear socks. Unlike Yeezy Slides, there's no reason to size up apart from this reason. Waterproof and great for the beach and pool, you'll need a pair of these slides in your life this summer, whether you're visiting far afield, or sticking with a staycation.
