After reportedly earning over $25 million in profit on the first day of Yeezy's relaunch, Kanye West has demonstrated that the demand for Yeezy products remains high, despite the surrounding drama. As part of the extended separation from Ye, adidas pledged in May to donate a substantial portion of the proceeds from the remaining Yeezy stock. Judging by all indications, this plan is now being put into action.
According to the Financial Times, adidas has already donated a total of €10 million and will now pledge an additional €100 million to charities battling anti-semitism. The charities in question were named as the Anti-Defamation League and the George Floyd Foundation earlier in the year.
adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden said in a statement that “We have inherited a situation that was very unfortunate,” and "Our task now is to limit the damage, get rid of the inventory, use the proceeds for good and lead the business without Yeezy.”
