An Up-Close Look at The Nike Air Max 1 "La Ville Lumière"

The Nike Air Max 1 "La Ville Lumière", or "City of Light", is an ode to the French capital, and is completely on-theme by shining bright for all to see. A silhouette that true, old-school sneakerheads go crazy over, this Air Max 1 is bound to bring in a new audience with its premium materials and one-of-a-kind design.

Coming with the original Air Max 1 base, the crisp-white midsole houses the translucent Air bubble that showcases Nike's comfort technology in the best way possible. Underfoot, a creamy translucent outsole shows off a Nike Swoosh and "La Ville Lumière Printemps 2022 3.26", a reference to the French department store chain.

As we move further up the shoe, the mudguard around the base comes in premium nubuck in an off-white colouring, adding to the neutral colour scheme and providing flexibility and a luxurious feel. Iridescent woven overlays sit around the eyelets, underneath the nubuck Swooshes on both the medial and lateral sidewalls, and features on the heel, too. Hitting the light in all the right places, this detail adds a special touch to the AM1 silhouette that is unrivalled by any other silhouette with the same detailing.

The rest of the upper comes constructed from a white mesh, matching to the cushioning around the sockliner. The tongue provides contrast by coming in a dark-navy colouring, peeping through the white lace unit.
