The BAPESTA colourways have been coming thick and fast this year, with a number of GR releases, special-edition collaborations, and women’s-exclusive pairs having already hit the shelves. Now, the Japanese streetwear imprint looks to be gearing up for the latter half of 2022, with three new colourways inspired by Italy, France and Brazil set to join the line-up.
Football fans will spot that the countries in question appear pretty significant given the events scheduled in for this winter, although BAPE hasn’t officially confirmed that the World Cup is the theme behind the pack. Even so, the campaign images show the sneakers up against backdrops that are clearly inspired by the nations.
All three pairs arrive in a smooth leather construction, giving way to patent overlays and a patent Star. The AF1-inspired silhouette features a similar chunky sole and perforated toebox, although BAPE branding can be spotted on the sole unit, heel and tongue tabs and dubraes. The pairs then arrive in each country’s colours, with “France” taking on a red, white and blue colour palette, “Brazil” coming dressed in blue, yellow and green and “Italy” appearing in green, red and white. Each pair then comes finished with silver detailing at the topmost eyelet and BAPE branded dubraes.
The BAPESTAs are set to drop on July 9th at BAPE, so whether you’re feeling World Cup ready or you’re planning to visit any of the countries on your summer hols then be sure to head over to their site or retail locations on the day!
Up next, Travis Scott's Cactus Jack x Dior B713 sneaker has been revealed.
