After what’s been a tricky few months for adidas, the German giant has announced that it will be parting ways with Beyoncé and ending its collaborative part in the IVY PARK line.
Reports suggest that the partnership between adidas and Beyoncé was ended over ‘creative differences’ and that Queen Bey is looking to regain ownership of IVY PARK, which would allow her to redirect the label. IVY PARK was originally launched in 2016 as a collaborative project with TOPSHOP. After parting ways with TOPSHOP, Beyoncé remained the sole owner, before re-launching the brand with the help of adidas in 2019.
Back in February, it was reported that IVY PARK was suffering from weak sales numbers, as the brand’s revenue had fallen 50% over the course of 2022. This was said to have left a $200 million dollar hole in adidas’ annual projections - which alongside missed revenue from adidas’ now terminated partnership with Yeezy, left the sportswear brand in a tricky spot.
Right now, there’s not much more info about the end of deal, but be sure to stay locked to The Sole Supplier for all the latest news as it comes in.
Up next, the adidas x Clarks x Ronnie Fieg Sambas are now available to pre-order.
