Originally launched in 1987 and designed by none other than Tinker Hatfield, the Air Max 1 is nothing short of a legend in the sneaker world. The timeless silhouette has played host to plenty of incredible collaborations and effortlessly-clean colourways over the years, and now it’s ready to celebrate it’s 35th anniversary. To help mark the occasion, Nike is set to launch several limited-edition releases, with one of these being the Nike Air Max 1 PRM “Wabi-Sabi”. This premium pair is inspired by the ancient Japanese aesthetic concept of beauty in imperfection, therefore it offers up a vintage-inspired design that’s decked out in khaki-green, brown, yellow and white. The uppers are crafted from suede and showcase classic panelling, with Nike Swoosh logos on either side.
Underfoot an aged-white midsole shows a cracked pattern, with the typical visible Air Max unit present under the heel. Let’s not forget the “XXXV” stitching on the lateral heel, dedicating this pair to the 35th anniversary. If you’re looking to get your hands on these special-edition AM1s, then they’re set to hit stores on the 26th March (Air Max Day), so keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest as it unfolds. In the meantime, stay tuned for other epic news like your first look at the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 “Green”!
