Technical sneakers are nothing new, but they’re certainly getting cleaner and way more wearable. To celebrate the Jordan 11’s anniversary last year, Jordan Brand released a self-lacing version of the iconic design. Now, the Jordan 11 Adapt returns in the form of the Air Jordan 11 Adapt “University Blue,” a colourway that pays homage to the “Columbia” AJ11 that Michael Jordan wore in the 1996 All-Star Game, whilst maintaining a couple of fresh twists for 2022.
The “University Blue” Jordan 11 sees the usual patent leather mudguard swapped out for a soft grey suede version, whilst the upper is done up in a blue and white grid-patterned ripstop-like upper, which gives the shoe a technical look. It’s not just technical on the surface though – Nike's Adapt Power lacing technology sees the AJ11s traditional laces swapped out for a self-lacing unit. Underfoot, a white midsole is dipped into an icy-blue outsole, tying the “University Blue” AJ11 Adapt colourway together.
A release date for the "University Blue" Air Jordan 11 Adapt is yet to be revealed, but be sure to keep it locked for more info as it comes in.
In the meantime, Jordan Brand revisit their roots in the Jordan 1 "Heritage."
