It’s been an immense year for adidas Originals and the Forum, as the silhouette has received a huge revival and was greeted with an unprecedented amount of hype. After several huge collaborations it seems adidas will continue pushing the Forum, as today a brand-new collaboration with LA Lakers star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has just been unveiled and it’s looking like a seriously hot pair!
While Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is currently retired from the NBA, he’s still very much a present figure when it comes to both basketball and the Lakers. The pair are modelled on his jersey and showcase the iconic yellow and purple colourway, with number 33 printed on the lateral heel once again in homage to Kareem.
The uppers are crafted from a perforated fabric that represents a basketball jersey, with the retro panelling of the Forum Low present as ever. Three stripe branding runs down each side for a traditional touch, with trefoil logos also making an appearance on the tongue and heel tabs. Plenty of padding is present around the ankles and tongue to make these a comfortable everyday staple.
This all sits on top of a chunky retro midsole unit that conceals plenty of cushioning to once again ensure you’ll never want to step out of these. If you’re looking to cop the upcoming Kareem Abdul-Jabbar x adidas Originals Forum Low “Lakers”, then be aware it’s not going to be easy to get your hands on a pair. Just 33 pairs will be released exclusively in the USA, with an $1000 price tag. All proceeds will go to the Skyhook Foundation. Make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier and while you’re here, check out Travis Scott’s unreleased Dior collaboration!
