COMME des GARÇONS and Nike Take It Back To '85 With the Archival Classic Terminator Model

Every year, the partnership between COMME des GARÇONS and Nike gives us a slew of tasteful silhouettes. Thanks to CDG’s track record when it comes to picking out archival silhouettes, sneakerheads can always get excited about what the two are cooking up, even if it comes with a higher price point.

After leaked images surfaced last year, the idea of a possible CDG x Nike Terminator High was on the minds of all high-end sneaker lovers. The Terminator High originally debuted as part of the “Be True To Your School” collection back in ’85 alongside a selection of Dunks. Thanks to the Swoosh, we’ve currently been enjoying a number of general release Terminator retros, with it being the first time for many new sneakerheads who weren’t old enough to experience the early 2000 versions. As expected, fans of the OG have been left somewhat disappointed, complaining that the shape and material quality haven’t done the original's justice, something we’re hoping the CDG versions can amend.

The CDG x Nike roster already looks strong for this year, with rumours circulating of an Air Pegasus 2005 and Tennis Classic return. Up until now, the Terminator is the only one that has received an official release date, dropping in a “Black”, “Blue” and “Red” colourway for April 1st. With a retail price point of around £230, you can expect premium materials and construction for each edition. Typical of the partnership’s previous work, the make-ups are kept simple as the CDG wordmark is printed onto the left heel, announcing the brand’s collaborative presence.
