Updated 21/9/23: December is rolling around faster than any of us would like to admit, but at least we have some killer releases to look forward to while the dark and rainy days set in. As anticipation builds for the Nike SB Dunk Low "Powerpuff Girls" pack, we've finally been given an on-foot look at each of the upcoming colourways, courtesy of Yankeekicks. Here, you can clearly see each pair's unique construction, and all the details that lend themselves to the Powerpuff Girls theme. Now confirmed to come in special edition packaging (which of course comes complete with printed tissue paper), the pack is expected to touch down on the 14th of December. Take a look and set your reminders for the pairs below, and scroll for the original article so that you're up to date on everything we know so far.
Updated 04/9/23: As its expected release date inches ever-closer, images of the upcoming Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB Dunk Pack have finally surfaced. Over the weekend, we got our first proper look at the "Bubbles" and "Buttercup" variations, whereas previously only the "Blossom" pair had leaked. Now we've had a chance to see each pair, its clear that every colourway features a slightly different material make-up. "Blossom" takes on a suede build, the "Buttercup" pair gets draped in satin, and the "Bubbles" version arrives with a textured, snakeskin-like finish. As expected, each pair's colour palette corresponds to the colours used for the titular characters, and each pair comes finished with graphic insoles that depict the series villain, Mojo Jojo. The pack is currently expected to release on the 14th of December, so check out the newly leaked images below, and hit the 'Notify me' button to set a release reminder ahead of the drop.
Update 24/7/23: It feels as if it’s been a while in the waiting, but over the weekend we finally got our first glimpse at the upcoming Nike SB Dunk Low “Powerpuff Girls” Pack. With nostalgia hitting heavy with the release of the Barbie movie this month and KITH’s upcoming X-Men collab, we’re expecting more images of these to start coming thick and fast - but for now, here’s a series of updated mock-ups based on a leaked image of the “Blossom” pair shared by thesolesourcerer.
The latest in a long line of the Swoosh’s skateboard division releases, it looks as if each pair will feature enlarged, embroidered heel tabs that depict the eyes of each colourway’s corresponding character. The colours used on each pair also follow suit, while the mockups suggest black accents and midsoles.
Current rumours suggest that the Nike SB Dunk Low “Powerpuff Girls” Pack is set to drop in December, though any info is still to be confirmed by Nike. Leakers have also alluded that one pair will be much more limited than the others, but as it stands no further information has been disclosed. As we await more news and images, check out the mock-ups right here, as well as the original article below for more info!
It’s 2002, you’ve just finished school and you’re now sat in front of the TV ready to watch Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup fight the never-ending world of crime. Rumoured to be combining forces with the Powerpuff franchise is Nike SB, releasing what could be a three-shoe capsule that is sure to have the Y2K crowd going wild.
With the Cartoon Network programme celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2023, it would make sense to see the collection drop before the end of the year. As cartoon-inspired sneakers continue to command the spotlight in 2023, with MSCHF’s Astro Boy-inspired Big Red Boots and Nike SB’s Dunk High Doraemon, it was only a matter of time before we saw the Powerpuff Girls break into the sneaker world.
While no official or leaked photos have surfaced, we’re not expecting these to remain hidden for too much longer. Whether or not the capsule will drop on the same day is also up for discussion, because for serious Powerpuff fans out there, owning all three is the only correct answer. That being said, it could just be the one-pair edition, going for Nike’s ‘What The’ approach that combines Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup’s colours all onto one shoe. Either way, we’re certain Nike’s release strategy will not only pack a nostalgia punch but arrive with all the magical SB energy that made the division great during the early 2000s. Make sure to tune back into The Sole Supplier where we can keep you updated on the Powerpuff x Nike SB collaboration!
In the meantime, why not check out the “What the Lobster” SB Dunk Low!
