As all self-confessed sneakerheads know, Phil Knight named his brand (previously known as Blue Ribbon Sports) Nike, after the iconic Goddess of Victory. Stitched into the history of the Oregon-born brand, Nike is more than just a name – it’s an ode to the company’s origin, and Nike is celebrating this in the form of the new Nike Air Force 1 Shadow ‘Goddess of Victory’. A women’s-exclusive sneaker, this pair is wrapped in a Goddess-adorned paper that tears away to reveal a tonal, premium AF1 beneath.
Underneath the paper wrapping, this Shadow dons a layered leather composition in varying shades of grey. A subtle, rich marble print pays homage to the winged statue of Nike that inspired Knight’s venture into sportswear and that same statue is shown in full on the shoe’s insole. Shimmering tones of silver are stitched onto this AF-1 Shadow’s tongue and the outsole comes in the unique marble effect that’s seen throughout the upper.
A truly decadent take on the world-famous AF1, the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow ‘Marble’ is a sneaker fit for a goddess. Designed to honour Nike’s roots and all the women paving the way for future female sneakerheads, this design is more than a sneaker; it’s a statement. A confirmed UK release date is yet to be announced, so keep it locked into The Sole Supplier for more info on this drop and more Nike launches!
