Teddy Santis, head of NY-based lifestyle and fashion imprint Aimé Leon Dore, plays a significant role in New Balance's rising popularity today. After he revived the retro 550 in 2020, the silhouette instantly became everyone's must-have-sneaker. With that said, Santis recently teased what appears to be an upcoming Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance Made in England 550 & 991.
The ALD x NB collaboration features the New Balance 550 and New Balance 991 in UK-made construction. The close-up image of the NB550 sees the model in two colourways: "Olive" and "Navy, both accompanied by creamy counterparts for a vintage vibe like the previous ALD x New Balance 550 colourways. However, what makes this unique are the mesh underlays replacing what would traditionally be perforated leather.
Next is the ALD x New Balance 991 Made in England, featuring its classic leather-and-mesh build in fall-friendly olive, tan, and cream tones. Familiar New Balance branding details paired with iconic ALD motifs complete the coveted collaboration.
