Back in September, we reported that the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid "White" was in the works. Set to be Virgil Abloh's first time taking on the mid-top AF1, sneakerheads worldwide were naturally pretty excited about this news. Now, as we approach the end of the season, we're taking our very first look at the sneaker in question, and while it's a little different than the leaked mock-up, our hype levels have definitely remained the same.
It's hard to know what material this Air Force 1 is made from, but from this first shot it looks like the upper could be crafted from a Flyknit fabric. A Dunk-inspired dual lacing system offers the ultimate lockdown fit with one zig-zagging across the top of the shoe, while ripstop adorns the ankle and heel for a futuristic vibe.
Technical verbiage can be found on the sidewalls while a transparent "Clear White" Nike Swoosh shoots across in an avant-garde fashion. Now, the most interesting think about this Off-White shoe is the modified Air midsole underfoot. Borrowing elements from Abloh's other projects such as the 2021's Air Zoom Tempo Next% and 2019's Zoom Terra Kiger 5, the outsole is done up with a series of rubberised spikes. While these serve no functional purpose, they are certainly unique.
The Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid "White" will apparently drop alongside the "Black" sometime in Spring 2022 and will have a price tag of £165. Let us know what you think of the next Off-White x Nike project, and in related news, could this be the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 "Triple Black"?
