ICYMI, Boris has announced a roadmap that’ll lead us out of lockdown and into a brand-new era of socialising. We’re talking pubs, clubs and *gasp* HUGGING! Now that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, it’s time to start planning those outfits for each and every stage of the big social unlockdown. So, from having that picnic in the park to heading out to the clurrrb, we’ve rounded up all the sneakers you’ll need for every. single. occasion.
The most underwhelming of all the unlockdown phases, on the 8th March schools will reopen and you can meet one friend outside for a coffee, picnic or – ahem – makeshift bottomless brunch. It’s still pretty bloody chilly in March, so you’ll need a big jumper, some baggy jeans and a pair of AF1s to tie the look together.
This is where things start to get interesting. You can gather in groups of 6 people outside and outdoor tennis and basketball courts are going to reopen. So, put on your fave top and lace up your Jordans, because Saturday’s plans will change from baking banana loaf to shooting hoops and sipping on tinnies.
Waiting until after the Easter Bank Holiday, ey Boris? We see you. April really takes things up a notch with gyms, salons and self-catered getaways. Oh, and beer gardens. Yes, folks, pub gardens are making a comeback in April and this is the time to flex the sneakers that haven’t had their time to shine yet. Did someone say AJ1 Mocha?
Say “ciao” to the rule of six, because come 17th May, you can meet up to 30 people outside, indoor pubs and restaurants will open, and you can go round your mate’s house. This phase just screams garden BBQ, so you’ll need some bike shorts, a baggy tee and your favourite pair of AF1 Shadows.
What has only been a dream up until now is finally turning into a reality come 21st June. If everything goes to plan, every restriction will be lifted and EVERYTHING will reopen – which means a club night with the girls is definitely on the cards. You haven’t worn heels for over a year at this point, so team your LBD with some classic Converse to ease yourself back into that six-inch platform.
