Every once in a while, a brand within the streetwear industry will come along and challenge all existing trends with its own unique take on things, and one of those labels that have done it best is Brain Dead. Founded in 2014 by Kyle Ng and Ed Davis, Brain Dead is a collective of artists and designers from around the world, known for its vast range of printed designs, points of inspiration and quality apparel.
Part of what makes Brain Dead so special as a brand is the fact it can take motivation from simply any source. Post-punk, underground comics, skateboarding, wrestling, indie-pop music, and film - Brain Dead's list of inspiration is never ending and seems to expand with every collection or capsule produced by the brand. In addition to this, the label approaches the idea of collaboration with open arms, leading to previous collections with the likes of A.P.C, Vans, Reebok and Dickies, to name a few.
Brain Dead's list of collaborators doesn't end with other brands, however. Given the label's vast points of musical influence, the brand has also collaborated with the likes of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Gibbs and Danny Brown for distinctive capsule collections. In a fashion realm where people are always trying to guess what exactly is coming next, Brain Dead has positioned itself in a way that it can always be somewhat part of the next trend before it even happens, meaning the brand is only likely to continue to grow from here on out.
