The search was on yesterday as thousands of sneakerheads scoured the Nike SNEAKRS app in search of a grail. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite as easy as unlocking a pair of creps before checking out. There was a challenge involved and that started with a hunt for a "Golden Hangtag".
Even if that shimmering tag appeared on your screen, it still wasn't a guarantee of success. Only a few of the people to receive the hang tag were later sent a message granting them early access to a high-heat release, one to launch between September and December.
As painful as it might seem to those of you who were left with nothing, there was two other ways to get lucky. The second event involved a location-specific "stash"; meaning those across London, Paris and Berlin were in with a chance of unlocking a shoe.
It was London's Brick Lane Yard that granted access to both the Jordan 1 Not For Resale and Sacai x Nike Blazer Mid.
Not surprisingly, a crowd soon showed up but with such limited numbers it was first come, first served. Rumours also spread of another "stash"; in Tottenham but they turned out to be false.
There was one last prize but this was limited to the top 50 users of the Nike SNEAKRS app. Those dedicated sneakerheads were rewarded with a free pair of the Off-White x Nike Vapormax!
