It's crazy to think that the Union LA x Nike "Un-Cortez" first leaked all the way back in December. First previewed in "Khaki", this Cortez collaboration was later teased in four more colourways. Now, after six whole months of waiting, the collection finally has a release date - and here's what you need to know.
While the Cortez has pretty much remained unchanged since it made its introduction in the '70s, Chris Gibbs and his talented team have been given permission to rework it from the ground up. Working on top of a stripy canvas base, the "Sesame" boasts striking pink accents throughout while the "Off Noir" boasts bright turquoise tones across the board.
ULA's signature yellow tag adorns the lacing system, and their iconic Frontman character is finely debossed around the heel. To round it all off, the special edition lace lock is lasered with "Cortez '72" as a nod to the famed Nike silhouette's debut year.
The Union LA x Nike "Un-Cortez" Collection is set to launch on June 21st through Union LA with a wider release incoming soon. We'll also be getting two more variations at a later date, so make sure you keep it locked at The Sole Supplier for more info as it develops! In related news, the Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High OG "Chicago" is pretty close to perfection!
