COMME des GARÇONS has a couple of contenders for the collab of the year under its belt already, but Rei Kawakubo doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. After being revealed at Paris Fashion Week towards the start of the year, a release date for the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Max 97 collection seems to have been set, so read on to find out more…
Arriving in two colourways, the CdG x Nike AM97 sees Kawakubo put her spin on the Christian Tresser-designed silhouette, giving the sneaker a pre-worn makeover that takes inspiration from nomadic lifestyles. Both the “Grey” and “Black” colour schemes feature washed-looking rippled panels that work their way towards the top of the sneaker, while hints of white or black mesh peep through from underneath. Underfoot, the classic AM97 sole unit helps to provide a comfy touch, while throughout the design branding hits remain minimal, with Nike Swooshes and Air Max branding hitting the usual spots and CdG branding remaining reserved for the footbed.
The COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS AM97s are set to drop globally on September 22nd at Dover Street Market. In the meantime, hit the links to set your release reminders and get notified in the event of a wider release.
