It’s been rumoured that a sacai x Nike Cortez collab was in the works for a while, and now the pairs have finally come to light as they were spotted on foot at Paris Fashion Week. During the showing of sacai’s Pre-Fall Women’s and FW22 Men’s collections, models took to the runway wearing the sneakers, giving the public their latest preview of what’s to come from sacai and Nike’s next linkup.
Set to arrive in two colourways, “Grey” and “White Red,” the sacai x Nike Cortez sees the classic 1972 silhouette get updated with sacai’s design language. Borrowing elements seen from collabs past, the standout features include double tongues, a sliced up and stacked sole, and a double Swoosh that sweeps across the side walls. At the front of the foot, a visible Nike Air bubble can be seen embedded into the sole for a comfy ride.
Moving on to the colourways, the “White” pair nods to the original Cortez in celebration of the silhouette’s 50th anniversary, and comes constructed from nylon and soft suede in the same colours as the original pair. The “Grey” pair takes on a tonal grey makeup, with a dark grey nylon base and lighter suede panelling taking over the majority of the sneaker, and an even lighter shade peeps out from under the double tongue.
There’s no confirmed release info for the sacai x Nike Cortez just yet, but we’d expect them to launch sometime later this year. For now, be sure to keep it locked for all the latest news and release info, as we’ll be the first to update you when we know more.
