Legend has it that before Virgil Abloh joined Team Swoosh, Hiroshi Fujiwara was already working with Nike on "The Ten". During ComplexCon 2017's The Art of Collab panel, the Japanese fashion designer revealed that Abloh "won" the project after the Beaverton brand were impressed by his deconstructed design. With that said, Fujiwara has now taken to Instagram to show the fragment design x Nike Air Max 1 "The Ten".

Taking on one of the most iconic sneakers in history, the fragment AM1 features a light grey suede base with stealthy leather making its way around the mudguards. A technical hiking lace system has been implemented for a utilitarian aesthetic that probably inspired the Air VaporMax's Flywire setup, and a white Swoosh is finely embroidered across the side panels.
Co-branded detailing graces the tongue, and interestingly enough, "The Ten" is printed onto the back heel tab as a nod to the collection that never was. Elsewhere, fragment's signature verbiage adorns the Air midsole, finishing off the design.
While these will never ever get a release, it's interesting to see an alternate reality where Off-White didn't exist. What do you think of the fragment design x Nike Air Max 1 "The Ten"?
