Debuting at Paris Fashion Week 2020 via the French fashion brand Casablanca, the New Balance 327 has taken over the airwaves in a way that some brand-new, modern silhouettes find it difficult to. Thought up by Manchester-based sneaker designer Charlotte Lee, the 327 takes all that is loved about other classic New Balances whilst delivering a modern twist.
A blend of the 320 and Super Comp, both styles from the ‘70s, the 327 pays homage to the first time the large ‘N’ logo was used on New Balance trainers in 1976, whilst creating something pretty much unseen and exciting. Due to the sporty style, we’ve styled the New Balance 327 the only way we know how: with loungewear. We feel the asymmetrical, split design speaks for itself, so doesn’t need dressing up drastically to look good. Take a look through how we styled the different iterations with links to shop.
First of all, we dressed the New Balance 327 "Chalk" with brown cycling shorts and a white cropped tee. The neutral tones of the sneaker are well-balanced by the chocolatey hues used in the outfit. Perfect for those summer days! We also dressed the pastel New Balance 327s the same way, proving that you don't need a wild and extensive wardrobe to rock your favourite silhouette loads of different ways.
Next up, we decided to show you how you can swap your cycling shorts for joggers or sweatpants on those cooler days. Whilst we've stuck to brown, rest assured grey or black would work just as well, especially with these neutral New Balance 327s below.
Finally, we swapped out the joggers for a wide leg pair of shorts with extra detail down the sides. We love the contrasting tones of the New Balance 327 "Blue Sea" with the yellows of the shorts. Ideal summer styling.
Which is your favourite out of these outfits? We also know that the New Balance 327 goes great with leggings and other sportswear thanks to the clean lines and modern design, so they really are great for everyone.
