Is A Supreme x Nike Air Max 1 On The Cards For 2025?

While we're still waiting for the release of the Supreme x Nike SB Air Darwin which first was teased last year, rumours are already swirling about the next silhouette the two powerhouses will collaborate on. According to an anonymous source speaking to Complex, it looks like the iconic Air Max 1 could be the next shoe to receive the Supreme treatment. Although Supreme x Nike have released several Air Max models in the past, including 98s, 96s, and TNs, this would be the first time they've joined forces on the original Air Max. Neither party has officially acknowledged this release yet, but that hasn't stopped sneaker leak sites from mocking up potential designs for the collab.

When we spoke to members of our community, many found it intriguing that the two brands chose the Air Max 1 as the base for their collaboration. Traditionally, Nike has used Supreme collabs as a way to test the waters and build hype around silhouettes they're looking to release more colourways for. We saw this with the Tailwind 4 in 2019 - which saw demand for the silhouette reach an all-time high - and more recently with the Air Max Dn. Each time, Nike tends to build initial demand via the hyped collaboration before slowly releasing more general releases over the following months. With year-on-year demand for the AM1 down 10%, could this be Nike's strategy to revive the demand for their classic silhouette?

If the source is correct, this would be a historic collaboration, with four colorways of the AM1 hitting the shelves. There's been no information on which colorways would be released, but several mockups have reworked versions of the OG "Sport Red" and "Royal Blue" featuring heavy Supreme branding throughout the upper. Reactions to these mock-ups from our audience have been mixed, with some calling out the design for being lazy or played out, while others have gone so far as to claim this shoe could be the "drop of the year" in 2025. While we don't know what this release will look like, one thing is certain: it's going to be big.
