After we reported that the late Kobe Bryant’s estate will not be renewing his longstanding Nike deal, it’s now apparent that the estate is setting out to start a signature label that will carry the Kobe name. It’s unclear what the new brand is set to be named, although reports are stating that Vanessa Bryant has applied for several different trademarks.

“Play Gigi’s Way”, “Mamba”, “Mambacita”, “Baby Mambas”, “Mamba League” and 8 other trademarks have all been applied for and will cover clothing, gym wear, loungewear and footwear. While the end of Kobe’s relationship with Nike will come as sad news to many, the prospect of a new brand on the block is definitely more exciting than ever.
