Metallic Gold Details Elevate the Nike Air Max 97 "Distressed Tan"

Since the Air Max 1 debuted in 1987, the AM lineage has been at the forefront of striking design and cultural relevance - resulting in a range of styles that have stood the test of time.

This year, the original Air Max 97 colourway, the “Silver Bullet” celebrated its 25th anniversary, a milestone that proves the silhouette's testament to great design. Though the “Silver Bullet” is an icon in its own right, that’s not to say that the 97 doesn’t look great in any other colourway - it does, and this distressed metallic version is just the latest pair to catch our eye.

Housing a full-length visible Air Max midsole (the silhouette was the first of its kind to do so), the Air Max 97 “Distressed Tan” sees the iconic 90s style take on a new women’s-exclusive colourway that’s reminiscent of the luxurious COMME des GARÇONS-designed versions that dropped earlier this year. The style’s layered uppers take on shades of Vachetta Tan and a rose-toned Pale Nude, though a worn-away metallic gold finish adds to the pair’s vintage vibe.

A soft, shiny lining adds a touch of comfort to the sock liners and the back of the tongue, while the style’s speedy lacing system comes dressed in tonal hues. Embroidered mini Swooshes peep out from the mid-panels, and a crisp white sole comes topped with a nude-toned outsole to add the perfect finishing touch.
