If you’ve been keeping up with the latest in the sneaker world then by now we’re pretty sure you’ll be familiar with the MSCHF x Lil Nas X “Satan” Air Max 97 sneakers. We first reported on the pair at the end of last month after Nike denied all involvement with the project and then later went on to sue MSCHF over copyright infringement. It’s not too difficult to see why Nike didn’t want to be associated with the sneakers, they even contained a drop of real human blood!
As the story continues to unfold, it’s now apparent that Nike and MSCHF have legally settled their differences regarding the release of the sneakers. In an official statement, a representative from Nike stated - “As part of the settlement, Nike has asked MSCHF, and MSCHF has agreed, to initiate a voluntary recall to buy back any Satan Shoes and Jesus Shoes for their original retail prices, in order to remove them from circulation. If any purchasers were confused, or if they otherwise want to return their shoes, they may do so for a full refund. Purchasers who choose not to return their shoes and later encounter a product issue, defect, or health concern should contact MSCHF, not Nike.”

While Nike has asked MSCHF to attempt to reclaim the sneakers, the label will indeed be allowed to keep the 666th pair that Lil Nas X was set to give away to a lucky fan. There is also no guarantee that those who already own the Satan sneakers will return them to MSCHF, meaning they will likely stay in circulation. Make sure to keep it locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest and while you’re here check out the upcoming AJ1 Low “Paint Splatter”!
