Article Updated 18th January 2026: Another Nike Air Max 95 Zip has just stepped onto the scene and we think it might just be the standout of the trio. Revealed in a clean-cut ‘Phantom’ colourway, these freshly unveiled official images all but confirm that Nike isn’t slowing down with its Air Max 95 Zip lineup.
The earlier colourways were perfect for the winter rotation, but with spring/summer on the horizon, this fresh drop is already calling our name. The release date for the ‘Phantom’ pair is still under wraps, but if you’re keen to secure a pair, make sure you tap that ‘notify me’ button below.
Article Updated 25th October 2025: Official images of the Nike Air Max 95 'Zip Pack' have now been revealed ahead of its scheduled release.
Nike has left no doubt that 2025 belongs to the Air Max 95. Marking the 30th anniversary, the brand has been giving the silhouette a grand celebration, releasing a multitude of colours, bringing back heritage models, and even reshaping the shoe for the skate park and the football pitch. This festive revival shows no sign of stopping as we head into the holidays, particularly with the return of the zip up Air Max 95 Z.
The Y2K era had a little discussed but prominent trend in footwear: the use of zippered covers. We saw this feature on basketball trainers like Eric Avar's Nike Flightposite and running shoes such as the Air Max Sunder. These models have played a part in defining the ongoing resurgence of early 2000s fashion. The Air Max 95 Z originally arrived in 2001 in three colourways, with a patent leather lace protection panel that zipped shut, concealing the laces and tongue. For this latest release, Nike is offering three new colour options: Black, Loyal Blue, and Phantom. Each one features shaggy suede on the lower part of the upper, with a monochrome zip up panel covering the rest. The new version also adds this same suede material to the tongue, a detail that shifts the feel from the original's two tone construction. The previous model used the same colour under the zip as on the side panels. Bringing the new design together is the improved 'big bubble' tooling, which makes the Air unit in the heel more substantial, better reflecting the original sole unit from 1995.
The Nike Air Max 95 Zip Pack is scheduled to launch in November 2025, with an expected retail price of £175. Don’t want to miss out on these sneakers dropping?
