NikeLab 21 Mercer St is Closing After 14 Years of Trading

Originally opened as Nike’s first-ever boutique retail space focusing on limited-edition products, NikeLab 21 Mercer Street is set to close its doors for a final time in January 2023. Located in NYC’s SoHo district, the store has acted as an integral part of the city’s sneaker culture since 2008, and has hosted plenty of notable activations and events over the years, much like London’s NikeLab 1948 that closed down in 2018. Reports state that sneakerheads in New York have since been heading to the Nike SoHo flagship, which opened in 2016 and has since proved to be a popular option.

Nike has encouraged staff members to remain at the company by transferring to other locations or departments, and also stated that in-store activations will continue at alternative outposts.
