If you're looking for a shoe with special meaning, then the Nike Air More Uptempo GS Gradient Pink is the sneaker for you. Although this one has us a little lost in regards to who is responsible on the ombré effort, the design is not under-appreciated, and most certainly has us weak at the knees.
Coming exclusively in GS sizing, those with feet sized between 3 - 6 are considered the lucky ones this time around! Keep scrolling to take a look at this sunset-inspired Uptempo more closely.
This take on the 1996 silhouette sees a gridded upper decorated with a gradient-hued design that takes on pink and purple hues. These tones offset the "Sail" colouring of the rest of the shoe nicely, making way for the leather overlays on top that read 'AIR' on both the medial and lateral sidewalls. Each letter is outlined with a grey panel.
3M reflective detailing features across the silhouette, with Nike Swooshes making themselves comfortable on the toe box and heel of the sneaker. The mesh tongue allows for breathability, whilst the visible Air unit in the midsole guarantees further comfort.
What's particularly different about this pair, however, is the addition of a date at the top of the tongue. December 5th, 1983 is presumably an important date to whoever's signature is on the insole of the Uptempo, whilst on the other shoe a quote from the Bible, Philippians 2:3-4 to be precise, adds a meaningful touch. Whilst we're not sure of the exact story behind this sneaker just yet, we're hoping more information will drop in the coming weeks.
Nevertheless, it doesn't mean we're any less excited for this Nike Air More Uptempo GS Pink Purple to drop! Use the links on this page to set your release reminders, and check out how we styled the silhouette here.
