Once again, the late Virgil Abloh shows off his inner shoe dog with this posthumous Off-White x Nike release. Virgil’s first contribution to the Air Force 1 lineage came back in 2017, when he released his infamous “The Ten” collection, ultimately resulting in a selection of Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1s in 2022. There have even been rumours of a possible Off-White x Terror Squad x Air Force 1 in the works, which only makes sense considering the long history that rap artist Fat Joe has had with the silhouette.
This pair of Off-White x Air Force 1 Mids take it back to the early 2000s with this collaborative Rasheed Wallace edition. Many of you might have seen these pairs floating about the internet, with an embroidered Rasheed Wallace taking his signature jump shot on the outer heel. Wallace, known for rocking the AF1 throughout his basketball career, was given a huge number of PEs (Player Exclusives) from the Swoosh, a few of which later received a public release.
Taking to his Instagram, A$AP Bari posted a photo of the new Off-White edition next to the originals, making the differences clear to see. Of course, the pair arrives with the iconic OW hang tags, as well as the overlacing and spiked outsole, typical of the brand’s deconstructed tooling. Black patent leather has been used for the upper, a material rarely used on Off-White editions but one that truly captures the early ‘00s Air Force 1 spirit.
The Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid Rasheed Wallace is set to drop in 2023, however any details on availability or whether these will be a regional exclusive has yet to be released. Make sure to tune back into The Sole Supplier where we can update you with the latest information regarding this drop!
