To mark 20 years of Bleach slashing its way into anime history, the legendary series has teamed up with ASICS for a special sneaker collab. The lineup reimagines the GT-2160 and GEL-NYC silhouettes, drawing inspiration straight from fan favourite characters Ichigo Kurosaki and Renji Abarai.
ASICS, the sneaker sensei of Japan, has a history of collaborating with iconic anime franchises. Earlier this year, the brand unveiled the Naruto ASICS GEL-NYC, and its passion for storytelling through sneakers extended to global pop culture with the Marvel x Kith collection.
This new collab gives two popular ASICS silhouettes a makeover inspired by the Bleach anime characters; because who wouldn’t want their kicks to channel "main character" energy?
The ASICS GT-2160 pays homage to Bleach’s protagonist, Ichigo Kurosaki, embodying his iconic Shinigami aesthetic with precision. The design features a striking mix of black, white, orange, and red, reflecting Ichigo’s fearless Soul Reaper persona.
A white mesh base with grey accents is topped with bold black suede overlays, while vivid streaks of orange and red add energy to the look. A bright orange highlight extends from the vamp to the off white outsole, seamlessly tying the design together for a bold yet balanced feel.
The ASICS GEL-NYC honours Renji Abarai, Ichigo’s steadfast ally and lieutenant of the Gotei 13’s 6th Division. This design channels Renji’s fiery spirit and signature red hair with a dramatic red and black colour scheme.
The upper features rich red suede with golden accents, complemented by black suede on the tongue and lace collar. On the heel, symbolic motifs of the 6th Division add a meaningful nod to Renji’s character and role.
After turning heads at NY Comic Con, the Bleach x ASICS sneakers are stepping into select Foot Locker stores just in time for the Holiday 2024 season.
