There’s no denying that Salomon has been setting the standard for collaborations this year; its joint efforts with END., JJJJound and Sandy Liang are all taking the sneaker scene by storm. While (with the exception of END.) these have been new collaborators for the brand, its next project sees the trail shoe aficionados revisit an old friend, joining British label Palace for their fourth collaborative effort - two colourways of a Palace x Salomon XT-Wings 2.
Keeping the execution relatively simple, the pairs arrive in two monochromatic colourways: “White” and “Black”. At first glance, this might seem a little basic, but peek a little closer and you’ll notice that both colourways feature high-gloss overlays that make them prime for subtle flexing. As far as branding hits go, Salomon spell-outs hit the lateral heels, while the brand’s signature colourful tongue tabs boast a Palace logo at the top. The skate brand’s Tri-Ferg label also adds its seal of approval to the rear, and the style’s outsoles have been given a marbled makeover.
As expected, the Palace x Salomon XT-Wings 2 still comes packed with all the technical elements seen in the style, including its usual Agile Chassis and Quicklace systems, and Contragrip soles. Set to land at Palace on the 1st of September, you’ll be able to cop the pairs via the brand’s webstore, or pick up a pair at resale shortly afterwards.
