We’ve always had JJJJound’s takes on New Balance down as some of the cleanest New Balance collabs going, and this latest link-up proves our point even further. Justin Saunders has once again created a minimalist dream in the JJJJound x New Balance 990v3 "Khaki," so let’s take a closer look at the sneaker.
After the success of their original 990v3 collab, and subsequent 992s, digital-moodboard-turned-creative-agency JJJJound once again take a laid-back approach the sneaker, only making a few minor tweaks to the details. Whereas the original 990v3 was grey, this iteration takes on a green hue, lighter than the one the Montreal-based studio used for the "Green" 992.
The green colour scheme outfits both the suede and mesh panels, whilst a darker green drapes over the leather detailing on the toe box and collar. The "Green" JJJJound 990v3s also feature a black “N” logo that matches the lining and tread and a JJJJound branded heel tab. Finally, the style retains the hints of silver we’re used to seeing on the usual 990 styles, and a cream-coloured midsole and laces nod to the collaboration’s predecessor.
As with all JJJJound collaborations, we’re expecting the "Khaki" JJJJound x New Balance 990v3 to be pretty tricky to get our hands on. The pair are set to release at JJJJound.com on February 24th, and will later be available globally at New Balance March 3rd.
