Peep an Early Look at Teddy Santis' New Balance 990v3 Made in USA "Grey"

It’s been over a year since Aimé Leon Dore founder, Teddy Santis was named Creative Director of New Balance’s Made in USA line, and now we’re finally starting to see some of his upcoming pairs hit the net. Following on from their highly sought-after Aimé Leon Dore collaborations, Santis’ first New Balance 990v3 Made in USA "Grey" has been revealed on social media, so here’s what to expect from the pair.

The “Grey” Made in USA 990v3 sees the pair arrive in New Balance’s signature grey colour, with hints of tan and brown adding extra detailing. The 990’s usual buttery pigskin suede has been replaced with a slightly shaggier variety, similar to that seen on the Levi’s collaboration, providing a super-soft finish.

Aside from the change in suede texture, the M990v3 “Grey” Made in USA sees the shoe come in its usual construction, with tan-coloured mesh panels peeking through on the sides as well as providing ventilation to the toe box. These come topped with cream-coloured pigskin overlays which give the pair a premium look.

In terms of branding hits, the Made in USA M990v3 “Grey” boasts New Balance’s ‘N’ logo in grey at the side, and retro-style ‘New Balance USA’ branding in a bold red shade at the top of the tongue. The pair come finished with a pair of off-white laces, which match the comfy white and cream-hued ENCAP midsole underfoot.
