Ye’s Yeezy brand has always been well known for its earthy colour palettes, but long-time fans of the artist will know just how iconic his 2014 “Red October” Nike collab is. For the first few years under adidas Ye avoided using red as a base colour for his pairs, but now the bold and bright hue is starting to see the light of day on certain silhouettes. The latest red iteration is the Yeezy Boost 700 “Hi-Res Red”, so let’s take a closer look at the pair.
The Yeezy Boost 700 has always been about experimentation – from its conception down to the colour palettes used. Designer Steven Smith has spoken candidly about how well the original 700 model takes colour, so it’s no surprise that the shoe makes the perfect base for the "Hi-Res Red" colourway.
Arriving in its usual construction of leather, mesh and suede, the “Hi-Res Red” Yeezy 700 sees the titular hue take over the collar and mid panel, whilst a mix of more muted tones make up the forefoot. These come in the form of black suede overlays, as well as grey and burgundy mesh and a grey suede panel at the toe box. Underfoot, the Yeezy 700 “Hi-Res” sees the typical 700 sole unit take on a more muted red hue, whilst pops of orange and teal nod to the original “Wave Runner” colourway. This comes finished with a bright red rubber outsole, and a pair of burgundy laces tie the “Hi-Res” Boost 700 colourway together.
Although we’ve only seen early images so far, it’s rumoured that the “Hi-Res” adidas Yeezy Boost 700 could release as early as June 17th. In the meantime, be sure to hit those ‘Notify me’ buttons to set your release reminder, and keep it locked for more info and images as it comes in.
Up next, the Yeezy Boost 350 "Pirate Black" could be getting a restock.
