Though it holds a special place in sneaker history, the Nike Air Force 1, in its original form is a pretty simple-looking sneaker. The beloved “Triple White” pair is as classic as they come, forming a staple style in most sneakerheads’ rotations, and constantly topping best-seller lists. However, when you’re looking at a shoe with over 40 years worth of history behind it, there comes a time when it's fun to freshen things up, and over its long life, we’ve seen many a special-edition version hit the shelves too. The latest pairs to join the roster come courtesy of a collab with Houston-based boutique Premium Goods, and see the style come adorned with some super-luxe detailing, as you could probably guess from the name.
While some may run with the mentality ‘if it's not broken, don’t fix it,’ it doesn’t really apply to the AF1. In fact, it's the simple styling that provides the perfect canvas for experimentation. The Premium Goods x Nike AF1 “Sophia” (“Black/Beige”) and “Bella” (Opal White”) run with the store’s concept, adding intricate beaded details to the Swoosh and tongue tabs, as well as swapping out the style’s usual smooth leather mid panels for premium, quilted versions.
Other details arrive in the form of custom gold-toned lace dubreas and aglets, as well as rope laces instead of the usual flat ones. Tiny star details also take the place of the ventilation points on the sidewalls, while a perforated tongue adds to the look. Arriving in either all-cream or black and cream, the pairs sit atop white and Sail midsoles respectively, and are finished with co-branded tongue tabs and special-edition packaging to celebrate the partnership.
The "Black Beige" Premium Goods x Nike Air Force 1 is now available at Nike, whereas the "White Multi" pair is set to follow shortly after. In the meantime, hit the links above to either shop or set your release reminders depending on the colourway.
