Sole Styling #02 - How To Style The Air Jordan 1 High

When most of us think of sneakers, our minds instantly think of the icons such as Air Force 1s, Air Max 1 and even the Yeezys of recent years. However, for most one silhouette will stand out above the rest and seemingly command the respect and attention of fellow sneakerheads and sports fans alike. Of course, we're talking about the Air Jordan 1! Since its debut in late 1984, the Air Jordan 1 has simply transcended the sneaker world and has instead become a relic and an accomplished symbol for effortlessly cool style all around the globe.

Few silhouettes have been as easily embraced within many sects of fashion as the Air Jordan 1, and because of that many fans have been able to style and flex this iconic sneaker in their own individual ways. But, with so many Air Jordan 1 colourways on offer, it can be tough to imagine new ways to style, so we've decided to offer a helping hand.

Here at The Sole Supplier, it goes without saying that we're huge fans of the Air Jordan 1, so we've decided to tap some of the crew to bring forth some of their favourite personal Air Jordan 1 pairs and show you just exactly how they might rock them on a day to day basis. For our first outfit, Craig has kept things uniformed and somewhat monochromatic to help flex his Travis Scott x fragment design x Air Jordan 1 High. Starting from the top, Craig has layered a black Emilio Pucci x Supreme collaboration Box Logo T-Shirt with everyone's favourite winter jacket, The North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse, which also arrives in a complimentary black tone. Both pieces boast a relaxed fit to create an off-duty upper.

On the lower portion of the fit, Craig has matched the all-black colorway of his upper with a pair of Supreme x The North Face cargo pants. These pants also feature a relaxed fit with a slight taper to accentuate the high-top Nike Air Jordan 1s on the feet. Due to the light white and blue tones of the Travis Scott Jordan 1, these shoes match the logo portion of the T-Shirt and sit in contrast to the remainder of the outfit, further making them stand out.

While this all-black fit is ideal for all seasons, you can also easily pair these shoes with any neutral colors such as navy, grey, white and many more, making this pair of Air Jordan 1s suitable for a range of fits and styles.

For our second fit, Emily showcases a relaxed fit with subtle pops of colour to draw emphasis to her iconic pair of Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 1 "Chicago" on the feet. Being a huge fan of Justin Bieber, Emily sports a classic oversized hoodie from Drew House, the pop star's signature clothing line. The hoodie sports a black base tone with colourful pops of yellow appearing on the chest and arm of the piece.

Keeping in line with the laid-back appearance of this fit, Emily wears a classic pair of black joggers on the lower portion of the outfit, complete with a slight taper that gives way to a pair of the most hype Jordan sneakers in existence.

If you're lucky enough to have a pair of the Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 1 "Chicago", it's likely best to keep things low-key and let the shoes speak for themselves! Similar to the previous fit, you're best off utilising neutral tones with minimal branding to really make this legendary pair of sneakers pop.

Our third outfit from Kelly showcases a range of complimentary tones working alongside her Nike Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Rookie of the Year" sneakers. On the upper portion of this fit, Kelly styles a brown cropped top underneath a straw-coloured Carhartt coat. This piece comes complete with an oversized fit and a contrasting black corduroy collar that matches the tones seen on the sneaker.

On the lower portion of the look, Kelly continues with the oversized workwear element of the fit and breaks the neutral colors up with a pair of straight leg blue jeans. By breaking up the range of tones with the jeans, Kelly allows attention to be drawn back to the pair of Air Jordans on the feet.

As demonstrated, this particular pair of Jordan 1 sneakers work perfectly alongside similar neutral and drab tones, but if you're looking for another alternative, this pair would also work great with a pair all black jeans or pants. Pair that with your choice of upper layers and you're on to a winner for sure.

Our fourth outfit comes courtesy of Kai and features a unique blend of drab tones for a classic streetwear fit to work alongside his Jordan 1 Retro High OG x Union "Blue Toe" sneakers. On the upper portion of this fit, Kai wears an oversized SHINELUXURY scarfed zipper hoodie with a distinct beige/off-white tone. This hoodie comes complete with a range of distressed patches, zips and aged rivets adding character and detailing to the look.

On the lower portion of the look, Kai sports a pair of 90s British fatigue pant cargos complete with a range of pockets, a relaxed fit and an olive green hue. The beige hoodie upper and olive green lower tie in well with the off-white coloured midsole of the sneakers, which in turn brings this look together.

If drab and neutral tones aren't your look, you can try pairing this particular pair of Air Jordan 1s with similar blue, red and yellow tones found on the shoe for a well thought out look.

For our final look, Miles showcases a contrasting mix of dark and light tones alongside his pair of Union x Air Jordan 1 "Black Toe" sneakers. Topping off the fit, we see Miles sport his red LA Angels cap complete with custom "Sole" embroidery. Moving on, miles layers a classic black hoodie with a timeless dark denim Levi's jacket to create a subdued upper silhouette.

On the lower portion of the outfit, Miles sports a pair of Represent slim-fitted black cargo pants, ideal for keeping the look uniformed. With both the red and black hues matching the tones on the shoes, this look appears structured and thought-out.
