Even after 5 years, the "Wave Runner" continues to be one of Kanye West's most iconic sneakers. Designed by the legendary Steven Smith, the colourway changed absolutely everything about the industry. Singlehandedly kicking off the retro dad shoe trend, it combines a plethora of luxury materials with a multicoloured palette that was made to turn heads. Now, we're taking a sneak peek of the Yeezy Boost 700 High "Wave Runner", and here's what we know so far.
Before we continue, it's important to realise that this is just a sample, meaning it probably won't reach the production stage. With that said, never say never, right? Bearing a striking resemblance to the OG 700 with its grey mesh panelling and black nubuck, the only real difference is the extended ankle which offers additional support. "Semi Frozen Yellow" laces tie everything together, while the adidas Boost midsole is accented with orange tones, just like the first "Wave Runner".
As mentioned already, the adidas Yeezy Boost 700 High "Wave Runner" is just a sample, so we're not holding our breath on a release date. With that said, if these do manage to launch we'll be the very first to let you know, so make sure you keep it locked! Let us know if you'd go for these, and if you want to find out more, here's how Kanye West and Steven Smith rewrote the sneaker game.
