After getting a release date for the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom "Rage Green" yesterday, we're now taking our first look at the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom "Black", but unlike the first two colourways there's a sustainable twist. Images courtesy of sneaker insider @earlygvng, this AJ1 may look like any old pair from a distance, but as soon as you take a step closer you'll see plenty of changes that are sure to turn heads.
Painted in a black and charcoal colour scheme, the "Black" takes cues from the Nike "Space Hippie" Collection that was announced earlier in the year. With a sustainable canvas upper, "Flash Crimson" stitching runs across the heel and the "Zoom Air" tongue tag.
Exposed foam gives the shoe a DIY-esque aesthetic, while the Air midsole is crafted from rubber scraps produced through Nike's GRIND initiative. To round it all off, multicoloured accents are embedded within the outsole, made up of recycled plastic.
At this moment in time, almost nothing else is known about the Nike Air Jordan 1 High Zoom "Black", but we should expect them to land sometime in August this year. Let us know what you think, and in related news, the Dior x Jordan Brand "Air Dior" Collection finally has a release date!
