The Air Jordan 1 Low “Banned” is back after almost 15 years…kind of. The “Banned” colourway has dropped numerous times over the years, but it’s been a minute since we saw the Bred Air Jordan 1 with an “X” on the back.

We managed to get a sneak peek on the upcoming drop thanks to the kind people over at Size?, so shoutout to them for letting us get you an early look.
Originally dropping as a OG high back in 2011, the “Banned” colourway received mixed reviews from sneakerheads at the time. While the black and red Jordan 1 was a coveted model, the “X” on the back really triggered some mixed emotions from sneakerheads.
Eventually the OG high ended up in Nike outlets across the US, with savvy sneakerheads sweeping them up for as low as $60. Come the lockdown years and the spike in interest for the silhouette, the “Banned” editions were no longer a throwback fad but a highly sought after shoe, skyrocketing in value on the second hand market.
Now, Jordan Brand is bringing back the “X” on the heel, albeit in a low version. The release still arrives with a buttery leather upper and standard air Jordan 1 midsole, so we’re fairly positive that people are going to be copping come the drop day.
Dropping on Saturday 23rd of May via the Nike.co.uk website and select UK retailers such as size.co.uk, be sure to set up a release reminder so you don’t miss out. For any more updates on the Air Jordan 1, keep it locked to The Sole Supplier!
