With all focus seemingly on the upcoming Fear of God x adidas collection, its ESSENTIALS diffusion line has suffered somewhat of a fall from grace in recent times. Rewind the clock to under two years ago, and people everywhere were scrambling to get their hands on the Jerry Lorenzo-made line, but it's fair to say the hype train might have slowed down just a tad. Now, Fear of God ESSENTIALS is set to imminently launch a new initiative called The Black Collection, posing the question if this will be the capsule that gets ESSENTIALS back on track.
The Black Collection sees signature pieces refreshed with adjusted proportions, further design details, and, as the name might suggest, a stealthy black hue. Light Sand tinted pieces are also on offer, embracing FOGE's neutral-coloured design cues. Included in the range, we see a regular lineup of hoodies, sweatshirts, joggers and jackets, accompanied by dresses, relaxed pants and accessories.
Naturally, given the fact it's a Jerry Lorenzo collection, relaxed silhouettes are to be expected. Tweaks through the arms, legs and body accentuate proportions, delivering a fuller and almost robust construction. Selected pieces also don familiar tonal branding and the label's rubberised logos. The collection is expected to launch on the 7th of June via the brand's website and then globally on the 9th. In other fashion news, Patagonia settles its trademark infringement case with GAP.
