Last summer, The Sole Supplier reported that the Drake x Nike Air Force 1 "Certified Lover Boy" was in the works. Apparently meant to drop alongside his album of the same name, our sources now tell us that the hotly-anticipated collaboration has been sadly shelved - and here's everything that we know so far.
Bearing a striking resemblance to the classic "Triple White" colourway, the CLB-inspired Air Force 1 features a full leather construction that's as premium as it gets. While it might not look any different from the OG, when you take a closer look you'll begin to notice a few cool details that were exclusive to the 6 God's collab.
The usual "AIR" branding along the Nike Air midsole has been replaced in favour of "Love You Forever" in a cursive font. The stars along the outsole have also been removed, and in its place are a series of tiny, rounded hearts. While this might look pretty cute, this unit is apparently the sole reason why this AF1 has been cancelled.
According to insiders like @sneakerhistory and @sockjig, they claim that the hearts were just too hard to mass produce. While the Beaverton brand continue to search for a viable solution, it looks like the long-awaited Drake x Nike Air Force 1 "Certified Lover Boy" won't being seeing the light of day anytime soon. Let us know what you think of this, and in related news, the Nike Air Force 1 "White" comes with a carabiner Swoosh!
