It’s not been long since we first caught a glimpse of the upcoming Gucci x adidas collaboration on the runway, but now the Italian fashion house has taken to the internet to showcase a full lookbook for the collection. Inspired by vintage fashion catalogues, the lookbook gives us a better look at all 61 looks from the collection, complete with the 70s-inspired styling we’ve come to know and love from Alessandro Michele’s Gucci . Now, the collection is finally ready to shop, so scroll to see the women's styles in their entirety.
Looking closer at the collection, Michele’s pursuit of the retro-chic aesthetic is clear, as is his affinity for the adidas brand, which inspired the collaborative effort. Having said in the past that he prefers to call his collaborations ‘crossovers,’ it makes sense for the house to pair up with a brand that’s also rich in culture. Michele himself is an avid collector of adidas Gazelles , so it’s only natural that the silhouette makes an appearance in the collection, although this time they’ve been given a Gucci-style makeover, with options of monogram and house colours decorating the pairs.
Elsewhere, the Three Stripes brand has seen its clothing codes interpreted in a luxurious fashion. Tracksuits have become slightly more tailored, although these still feature the signature stripes and logos for a sporty vibe, and accompanying styles offer an elevated take on sportswear staples. Other pieces from the collection include matching shirt and short co-ords, tailored jackets, skirts, dresses and knitwear. Alongside the clothing sits a range of accessories, including bag and hats that fit with the elevated sportswear theme. Other women’s footwear options include mules, sandals, and heels that bear co-branded logos, even if they’re not typical Three Stripes styles.
Whereas previous collaborations such as Gucci x The North Face and the infamous Gucci x Balenciaga “Hacker Project” collab contained only a couple of looks, it seems that Michele has really gone all out for the Gucci x adidas collection.
The collection is available to shop now via adidas CONFIRMED , so be sure to head over there before it sells out!
