Following on from the success of the "White Onyx" and "Wolf Grey" iterations, Nike is taking notes from the "Bred" edition of their latest Jordan silhouette by adopting a collegiate colour scheme. Inspired by the University of North Carolina, "UNC"-inspired sneakers have always been popular. First seen on the Jordan 1 High OG and refigured many times since, we're excited to see the Swoosh Brand's take on their latest AJ1.
Exactly the same as the previous colourways, a platform, or 'elevated', midsole adds a super-chunky look to the Jordan 1 Low silhouette. Outlined by a baby-blue rubber outsole, the crisp-white midsole makes quite an impact on first look, but upgrades the humble AJ1 Low to something truly different and exciting.
The Carolina-blue hue also dresses the Nike Swooshes on the medial and lateral sidewalls, as well as the heel panel, eyelets and toe cap. Perforations dress the toe box for enhanced breathability, whilst white laces tie the sneaker up from top to toe. A white tongue doesn't house the usual Jumpman logo, but the outline of Michael Jordan's Wings insignia can be found embroidered onto the cushioned heel panel.
What do you think of this new silhouette? The previous colourways flew off the shelves, so you're going to have to be quick to cop if they're something you want as part of your rotation! The Air Jordan 1 Low LV8D University Blue, is dropping on 18th April over on Nike, and keep locked into The Sole Supplier for other retailer information to come soon.
